An Ocean City Family Tradition
During the summers of 1962 and 1963, Bill Gibbs, an Ocean City resident, was a beach boy for Breakers Hotel at Third Street on the Boardwalk. Visitors would ask him every day where to go for lunch. In 1979, Bill Gibbs had the opportunity to buy the Breakers Hotel. Bill knew the front porch of the hotel would be the perfect place for a family friendly restaurant offering Ocean City's best pizza and pancakes. The Dough Roller was born and opened in the spring of 1980.

Since then, The Dough Roller has grown and it is still run by the Gibbs family. There is one location at 41st Street on Coastal Highway next to the Convention Center. A second boardwalk location at South Division Street, across from the Inlet parking lot, serves Dayton’s Boardwalk Famous Fried Chicken – an Eastern Shore tradition. A full breakfast menu is served daily at the 3rd Street and 41st Street locations. Breakfast features our famous buttermilk pancakes, available in over a dozen varieties. All locations serve our buttermilk pancakes all day!
The Dough Roller is a family and Ocean City tradition that has been shared for decades. We invite you and your family to relax and enjoy great food, served fast from our family to yours!
